"Our Hope and Anchor"

There is so much to look forward to and to enjoy this time of year! Christmas really is my favorite time of the year, and it's more so now after going through the first half of Hebrews this fall. Of all the great things about this book, my favorite part is how how much it makes of Jesus. He is the "radiance of the glory of God" (1:3), the founder and perfecter of our "great salvation" (2:3), and our great hope behind the curtain of God's holiness (6:20). It's so amazing that Jesus wanted to taste our suffering so that he might call us brothers (2:10-12)! We get to share in his inheritance as little brothers and sisters? How mind-boggling is that? He is the fountain of all our joy and hope! What a reason to celebrate!  ~Stephen Estes
